Educate

CBD has a history of being bashed, ridiculed, and placed in the context of being an illicit and illegal drug for hippies, loonies, or just flat-out drug addicts. This couldn't be farther than the truth. That's why we are here to educate the public on the powerful healing properties Nature has given humanity to heal, treat pain, and even recover from the dark hole of depression.

This section is dedicated to that education.

What is CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a nonintoxicating cannabinoid and natural compound found in cannabis and hemp. CBD does not cause a "high" by itself. A definition taken from the National Cancer Institute: “A phytocannabinoid derived from Cannabis species, which is devoid of psychoactive activity, with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic and chemopreventive activities”.

How to Take CBD?

CBD Oil can come in many different forms and can be introduced into the body in varying ways to aid with a range of issues. CBD oil can be taken orally as with a capsule or edible. CBD taken orally can help with systematic symptoms, take longer to reach those effects, but also provide relieve for a longer period of time. If taken sublingually (as an oil under the tongue), the absorption rate is often a bit quicker and less is lost due to the digestive process.

It can also be used as a balm or salve topically for local issues like skin care and muscle pain. You can also decide to use more than one method together to provide a more overall benefit. For example, if you just got home after a hard workout and need to relax mentally and physically, you can take an oral dose of CBD as well as a topical product to make sure those sore muscles get extra attention.

How much CBD should I take?

If your doctor recommends a specific dose, then start there. If not, try 10 to 20 mg a day for the first week just to ensure you can tolerate it without experiencing unwanted effects or an allergic reaction. There is no one size fits all serving, so finding your proper dose can take time. Be patient and take your time. A good baseline is to start with is 0.25mg CBD multiplied by your body weight in pounds. 25mg for a 100lb person and 50 mg for a 200lb person etc. Depending on your desired effect, you can split this into single or multiple doses throughout the day, just make sure there is about 8 hours in-between doses. Increment this 5mg each week until you get to your desired amount.

If you have a specific condition you are trying to find help with, doing some research may get you to a more targeted goal. Studies done on CBD vary widely from 20mg a day to up to 1,500 mg per day. Different people respond to different doses due to many factors like age, weight, metabolism etc.

What is Full Spectrum?

Full-spectrum CBD is one of three main types of CBD available. Full-spectrum CBD contains CBD and all other cannabinoids, including trace amounts of THC (0.3% or less). Because it includes all of the cannabis plant’s compounds plus up to 0.3% THC, you can enjoy the entourage effect because all elements work together instead of a single cannabinoid being used alone.

What is the entourage effect?

The entourage effect is the thought that the full spectrum of the cannabis plant works best when working together as a team. There are many compounds within the cannabis plant that interact together such as cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids. When introduced to the body in varying amounts, it can produce a particular effect or impact a person's well-being, such as easing anxiety or decreasing inflammation.

One way to think about this is a sports team. You want a team to unique players with unique skills that work together synergistically to provide a positive outcome (scoring points or winning the game). If you were to have one team with a single player trying to do it all, there is a very low chance they would be able to outperform the team with more players.

Will CBD get me HIGH?

CBD does not get you high like THC. It is THC, not CBD, that creates the ‘high-feeling’ that most people associate with cannabis use. It can possibly make you feel mellow, experience less pain, and be more comfortable. Some CBD products do contain small amounts of THC, 0.3% or less.

Will CBD oil make me fail a drug test?

CBD is federally legal in all 50 states. Full Spectrum CBD is our most effective product because it contains up to the legal limit of 0.3% THC but has a higher chance of showing up on a drug test that tests for THC than our Broad Spectrum CBD product. If your company has a zero-tolerance drug policy, you may still be at risk for losing your job by taking CBD products.
